Understand Your Hair
When considering dreadlock extensions from Locked and Rooted, it's essential to factor in the density of your natural hair. Hair density refers to the number of hair strands per square inch of scalp. Understanding your hair density will help you determine the right size and number of dreadlock extensions needed to achieve your desired look.
Our dreadlock extensions come in various sizes: 0.4cm, 0.6cm, and 0.8cm. The number of extensions required varies depending on the size chosen and your hair density. For a full head installation:
• 0.4cm extensions: approximately 100-130 locks (average hair density)
• 0.6cm extensions: approximately 85-110 locks (average hair density)
• 0.8cm extensions: approximately 70-90 locks (average hair density)
Keep in mind that individuals with more or less dense hair may require more or fewer locks to achieve the desired look. Our team at Locked and Rooted is happy to help you determine the best size and number of extensions for your unique hair needs.
